Calling all budding Robin Hoods

Archery at High Borrans is back!

It's been a few years since we've been able to offer budding Robin Hoods the opportunity to loose a few arrows, but the wait is nearly over. We've decided to move the range down to the woodland dell at the bottom of our Elfrigg Campsite. It is a fantastic sheltered location, with the bonus of a covered classroom space, toilets and tea brewing facilities to hand.

Over the next few weeks our super instructors (under the watchful eye of maintenance man extraordinaire Roy) will be hoisting up the nets, setting up the targets and polishing those arrows ready for some summer shooting.

We can't wait to show off our newest facility, so make sure you come and check it out soon!

High Borrans is 50!

50 years ago the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, colour TV was broadcast for the first time, and Prime Minister Harold Wilson announced that the UK had decided to apply for EEC membership. How times have changed.

1967 was indeed a year of notable events.

But the most significant of all was the opening of HIGH BORRANS as an outdoor centre!

We are 50 years old folks, and want to celebrate this milestone birthday with you all. This may or may not include cake!

We are having a house party and open weekend on Saturday 14th – Sunday 15th October. There will be activities, conservation projects, good food, a Saturday evening party, entertainment, and did I mention cake?

Invitations will be sent to schools and other supporters soon: save the date! Everyone welcome
